My Best Runs Running Log

Run The World Gobal Challenge celebrates running around the the world.   RTW Challenge 12 started January 1, 2024. Monthly stats will be posted at the end of each month. We will also continue to keep track of miles from when we started as total miles since July 4, 2018.  And of course our weekly log starting on Wednesday and finishing on Tuesday.  The idea is to run or walk and then log those miles on your My Best Runs account. There is no entry fee.  You just need a MBR account - and that’s Free too.  After you sign up you log your miles on your account.

Did the Murph Challenge for Memorial Day weekend. Tendonitis in my elbows had been hampering me this week after 2 months of upper body conditioning with a 20 pound vest. After 6 months of rehab from stress related time off, I got back to my "normal" running. It's been a long road back to my favorite addiction.. For me, running is life. The road back has included more conditioning than I have ever done. I accomplished my final strength feat, and I now know that I am enough without extreme challenges.
Today, I beat last year's Murph Challenge time by 40 seconds. I doubt that I can do better, but am happy that everything came together. Now it's about rehab from tendonitis.
NO one sees the dedication and effort us runners put in, and it definitely takes its toll on the body. Only those of us that are driven, truly know the cost.. But it does have it's overwhelming joys. Dragging yourself out of bed in the dark, feeling the euphoria of the run when you hit your sweet spot, almost tripping over a log and recovering with that little adrenaline that powers your next mile.. Or coming across a bobcat with its kitten that chases you for a half mile and your fight or flight takes over.. So many stories! Runners live their lives one stride at a time. So many things flash through our brains. We see the world like not many do. I am blessed to run, and I love the running community. We are driven... and maybe a little bit nuts. We live a life that many people don't know and are not driven to know. Ask one of us about our morning run sometime.. maybe it will inspire you to take up this goofy sport and share your own stories!
