Good job Michael. You guys are fast. These are first class times age-graded. Do you race even pace or do you bank it early and hang on. 9/3 9:53 am
Thanks Bob. Some downhill early so definitely was go out hard and hang on! 9/3 10:09 am
That is how I ran some decent times in the past. When I ran 17:08 at Carlsbad 5000 (age 50) I hit the mile at 5:17 and then just hang on. Your neighbor runs 17:18 at age 62? That is 94.32% age-graded. World class. Your time is 88.58% age-graded which is also really strong. My best ever is 87.95 when I ran a half age 64 (1:26:27) but it was aided (2000 foot drop). My "real" best would be 87.21% when I ran Cal Ten at age 53 in 59:17. Is age-graded a thing back your way? 9/3 11:12 am
Yes, definitely. Also in the USATF events we run. This 5K course has some downhill and is somewhat aided also. My best without is closer to 86%. Ken hits 90% quite often though and is world class for his age. I can't even win my neighborhood! 9/3 11:45 am
Congratulations to all!!! Nice Trophies Glad to saw 9/4 5:40 am
