Dave Proctor is not done, even after running more than 358K in the span of 48 hours. The feat is a 48-hour Canadian record (previous mark of 355.8K), according to Proctor, who entered the race as the 24-hour Canadian record holder. Proctor hit 358.16K with 10 minutes to go before the 48-hour mark on Saturday so his new record will likely be more than 358K. Smart breathing can actually help you run faster and avoid getting hurt.

Coates has developed a new breathing style that synchronizes breathing with foot strike, alternating which foot strikes the ground with each exhalation. The breathing style, called rhythmic breathing, aims to help runners run better and avoid injury. (12/31/2017) ⚡AMP

MBR UNIQUE RACE: There isn’t anything complicated about running with snowshoes. You just have to remember to pick up your feet.
The challenge, as with any winter running, is keeping yourself dry - because wet clothes can kill you.Beyond the normal challenge of sweating from all the extra exertion, racing snowshoes tend to throw around a lot of snow. In loose snow, it looks like a snow squall is following you when you run. Half of it falls on you, so you should wear clothing that sheds the snow. (12/29/2017) ⚡AMP
Fred Lebow believed that running is for everyone. He fell in love with the sport on his first run around the Central Park Reservoir, and he spent the rest of his life converting millions...
