The stage is set for one of the most eagerly anticipated races of the 2026 Commonwealth Games after Scottish star Josh Kerr delivered both a commanding performance and a powerful warning to his rivals.

Moments after comfortably booking his place in Saturday night's men's mile final, Kerr summed up what everyone can expect with just five words: "It's going to be a war."

The reigning world-class miler looked relaxed and in complete control as he claimed victory in Heat 1 of the Men's One Mile Round 1, crossing the line in 3:58.57 to secure automatic qualification for the final.
