Gary Thornton has won three marathons with four to go by Monday

Galway City Harriers Athlete Gary Thornton has won three marathons in three days at the World Marathon Challenge which sees competitors run seven marathons in seven days around the world. Gary won the Antarctic Intercontinental Marathon in a time of 2.58.39 followed by Capetown Africa the next day in a time of 3:06.55 and Perth Australia the following day in 2:59:55.
