"Brasov Running Festival” is set to become the iconic running event of Romania, with elite, popular and children races, concerts, conferences and other running related activities. The elite 10K race, Trunsylvania International 10K is expected to enjoy an impressive participation of world class runners on a very fast course.

In Trento we have joined forces by gathering together the city’s biggest running events to give birth to the “Trento Running Festival”.

The Festival is a whole weekend dedicated to running for people of all levels: top runners, amateurs, families and the young. The event offers the opportunity to meet and watch top athletes trying to beat their record at the half marathon. But why not run just for the fun of it and discover a city with a thousand surprises?

In Trento history is part of the action. The Giro al Sas is one of the oldest races in Europe. It was created in 1907 to honour the patron saint of the city and this year celebrates its 71st edition. It is run on Saturday evening on a 1km lap completed 10 times. Spectators get the chance to see the champions in action repeatedly — some of the best athletes in the world have come to race here, from Stefano Baldini to Paul Tergat and Kenesisa Bekele. The 2017 edition will not disappoint.

Designing a race for champions is difficult but putting one on that can fully satisfy amateurs is even more challenging. The race is designed to give runners the chance for fast times but also to enjoy the sparkling scenery of the city. Among the sights are the basilica of St Maria Maggiore, where the Third Session of the Council of Trento was held, the towers, the Buonconsiglio castle and the passage in front of the MUSE designed by Renzo Piano.

The Standard Chartered KL Marathon has grown to become the premier running event in Malaysia that draws thousands of local and international runners to the country whilst firmly establishing Malaysia in the global running calendar. Dirigo Events and Standard Chartered Malaysia are pleased to announce a four-year extension to their title sponsorship agreement, taking the Bank’s partnership with the Standard Chartered KL Marathon through year 2022.

The Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon has grown into one of the largest road races in the United Kingdom.

The first event took place back in 2003. The event is not only the UK’s second largest half marathon, it is Wales’ largest road race and Wales’ largest multi-charity fund raising event.

The race is sponsored by Cardiff University and supported by strategic partners Cardiff Council, Vale of Glamorgan Council and Welsh Athletics.

The size of the field has dramatically expanded during the race’s history; from just under 1,500 runners in 2003 to 22,000 in 2016.

The Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon is now host to the Welsh Half Marathon Championships,recognizing Wales’s best athletes. 2014’s winners were Emma Wookey (Lliswerry Runners) with a time of 75.56, whilst Ieuan Thomas (Cardiff AAC) secured top spot with a time of 65.40. The event attracts the world’s top runners.

The Cardiff Half event record was smashed in the men’s field in 2013 when Loitarakwai Lengurisi – in his first race outside of his home country of Kenya – recorded a time of 61:51. British athlete Susan Partridge still retains the course record in the women’s field with her time of 1:11:10 in 2012.

Thousands of runners raise money for charity by getting sponsored, with more than £2.4 million raised for 800 charities and good causes each year.
