Wow, what a wonderful Marathon! I am proudly sharing these moments enjoyed during Satara Hill Half Marathon conducted on 2nd September 2018. Everything in this Marathon was very well organised right from starting to finish.
Cool welcome (I am deliberately using the word cool instead of warm) by drizzle when we got line up for the run. It started with a steep climb (a specialty of this hill marathon) for half distance and then downhill on the same route, towards the finish line.
It was awesome weather with cloudy sky. Natural cooling zones in the form of drizzles were there at regular intervals during the run. Greenery on the way, waterfalls, fog, beautiful landscapes and many more natural elements was making me forget the pain while running uphill.
Apart from nature, locals here were motivating during the run. Right from young kids to oldies everybody was cheering. Especially in last few miles, I felt like an elite runner.
‘This run is for enjoyment and not for your personal best’ this is what I heard about this Marathon. However, I got my personal best timing of 2:21.
This is the Marathon every runner should, rather must do.
Bob, you must be already aware about this Marathon. If not, I invite you to enjoy this once in a lifetime Run in the hills.

My journey of Marathons started with a 6K Dream Run in 2015. It gradually increased to 10K, Half Marathon & Full Marathon in last 3 years. It took 6 hours 17 minutes for me to complete my First Full Marathon in Jan 2018 (Mumbai Marathon) and after eight months the timing improved to 4:59 in August 2018 (Pune Marathon). Thanks to 100 Days of Running for this improvement. Now running is habit/hobby.
I just want to say ‘Journey is the destination’.
Thanks a lot Bob for this initiative; it helps us motivated.
