The race is organized by the Col·lectiu d'Atletes de Fons group and was first held in 1987. The course starts and finishes in Granollers and passes through Les Franqueses del Vallès and La Garriga. It is among the more popular half marathon events in Spain with around 10,000 runners taking part in the day's events. In addition to the main half marathon race, there are two further events: a 5 km race for fun runners and "the mini," which hosts a range of short distances for children.

“The IAAF and AIMS have a special interest in the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon so if you see their top officials at the third edition, don’t be surprised. Lagos is one of the few marathons in the world that got an IAAF Label after just two editions. This is a rare feat. The President of the history-making Bobsled & Skeleton Federation of Nigeria urged other Governors and corporate bodies to emulate Gov. Ambode and Access Bank.

“Nigeria does not have enough marathons and road races, Ambode and Access Bank have taken the lead with the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon. I urge other governors and corporate bodies to emulate them; we need more races in Nigeria. New York State alone has over 70 marathons and road races in a year. Our political and business leaders must embrace marathon even if it for the health benefits alone,’’ Ogba stressed.

The Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, which already has a Bronze label and is eyeing a Silver label, will enter its fourth year in 2019.

The Armagh International 5K Road Race is an annual event held in Armagh, Northern Ireland, renowned for its exceptionally fast course and competitive field. The Hong Kong Marathon, sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank, is an annual marathon race held in January or February in Hong Kong. In addition to the full marathon, a 10 km run and a half marathon are also held. Around 70,000 runners take part each year across all events.

High levels of humidity and a difficult course make finishing times for the Hong Kong Marathon comparatively slower than other large marathons. The course records were both set in 2012 by Ethiopians: Dejere Abera has the men's record of 2:11:27 hours while Misiker Demissie holds the women's record of 2:30:12 hours.

Hong Kong Marathon was first granted as IAAF Bronze Label Road Race by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) in The year 2012 race, and it was upgraded as IAAF Silver Label road race in The year 2013 race and continued to keep this rating in the year 2014 and year 2015 races.

The Hong Kong Marathon has hosted the Asian Marathon Championships race on four occasions (2002, 2008, 2013 and 2015).
