The Xiamen International Marathon is an annual marathon race held in January in the coastal city of Xiamen in Fujian province, People’s Republic of China. Every January, the first medal of marathon race around the world is awarded here.

The Xiamen International Marathon, which began in 2003 and is deemed by the IAAF as a Gold Label Road Race, is famous for its coastal scenic course. The entire course follows the scenic sections of the coastal city.

(II) Record-breaking awards (admission according to the gun time result):
1. USD 20,000 will be awarded for breaking the men’s record 2:06:19 (only for the champion) and women’s record 2:19:52 of Xiamen Marathon respectively (only for the champion);
2. USD 40,000 will be awarded for achieving the best result in (men’s and women’s) marathon within Chinese territory (only for the champion);
3. World record awards (for men’s and women’s): USD 1,000,000 (only for the champion)
NOTE: To be clear about the prize money. $2 million of the prize money is being offered only if a man and woman breaks the world record. On this course, the chances of this is almost impossible. But it is being offered and we are including it.
