This will be my 25th year running the Carlsbad 5000 March 25

“I first ran the Carlsbad 5000 in 1994,“ says Bob Anderson “I was 46-years old and what attracted me to the race in Carlsbad, California was three things. First, there were multiple races (start times) for different age groups (Including men 40 plus). They even had a separate elite race featuring some of the world’s best runner. Second, the city of Carlsbad is a real gem. Third, the super fast course that Steve Scott set up...This will be number 25 for me, running in the 70-74 age group this year. I have run as fast as 17:08 in 1997 and as slow as 42:12 in 2010 when I walked it after fracturing two ribs two days earlier. But I bounced back the next year and ran 19:53 at age 63.” Bob and his wife Catherine drive down from Los Altos each year on Friday to relax and enjoy the town.
