RIBERA RUN EXPERIENCE is a sporting experience whose center will be at the historic town of Peñafiel and especially two of its most treasured treasures: the Plaza del Coso, a medieval setting where the Startand Finish areas of the event will be located and where there will be located a good part of the parallel activities around the sporting event; And, of course, the most international emblem of the town and by extension of the Ribera del Duero, Castillo de Peñafiel, since its walls with more than 500 years of history are home to the Wine Museum.

The Tallinn Marathon has won a sure place in the competition calendar of runners and has become an attractive destination for running tourists looking for new experiences. About 20 000 running enthusiasts from 56 different countries participated in the 2017 event.
As a tradition, the marathon will take place in every second Sunday of September, this year 9th of September, and the participants will have a choice to run either a marathon or half-marathon. 10 km and Mesikäpp Children races will take place a day eariler, on Saturday 9th of September. All walkers and Nordic walkers are also welcome to attend the 10 km race. Make sure to attend or come support We Run Tallinn for youth, which will take place a Friday evening, 7th of September.
Similarly to most well-known international running events, the route of the Tallinn Marathon will run in city centre, passing through both the Old Town and the modern centre and by several well-known sights. The route conforms to international standards and is relatively fast; the weather of the region in September should also be favourable to running. This attracts fast runners from countries with strong running traditions and allows hobby runners to attempt breaking their own records as well. But the main benefit is the joy of moving together with thousands of great runners.
We wish you pleasant running experiences in the capital of Estonia!

Tallinn is an ancient and modern city between the East and the West. It is exactly this combination of old and new that the course of Tallinn Marathon will introduce. It is hard to describe the beauty of these sights – one must see them for oneself!
Tallinn may be small compared to the world's metropolises, but in marathon terms, it is up there among the greats. The SEB Tallinn Marathon is a great way to showcase our beautiful capital city for visitors. The route takes participants through unique areas of the city – from the city centre and Kadriorg park to Pirita, as well as around the Port of Tallinn and through the Old Town. However, the race is not only designed for visitors of the capital; Estonians from all over the country are very much welcome to take part. A total of about twenty thousand runners take part in various distances; the participants usually come from about 50 different countries.
Very many great cities in the world introduce their sights through the marathon distance, be it through the Berlin, London or New York marathon. While Tallinn is tiny compared to these cities, it is still very rich and unique in sights – the Old Town, the city wall with its towers, the Freedom Square, the green parks and so on. Tallinn is an ancient and modern city between the East and the West. It is exactly this combination of "old" and "new" that the course of Tallinn Marathon will introduce.
Great North Run founder Brendan Foster believes Britain is ready to welcome the world with open arms after the launch of the event's most ambitious plan to date.
The Great World Run campaign seeks to recruit one runner from every country in the United Nations – 193 in total – to take part in the iconic half marathon in September.
The search has began to find runners from the remaining countries, with people urged to get in touch if they know anyone who would qualify to take part..
And Brendan, who launched the Great North Run in 1981 when 12,000 ran from Newcastle to South Shields, is confident that although the next stage in the event's development is an ambitious plan, it will make the weekend all the more spectacular.
"It's the biggest event in the world. What we're saying is that it's the world's favorite run, because we've had more runners than anywhere else in the world. Now we want the world to come and join us," said Brendan, at the event's launch held at Newcastle's Center for Life on Wednesday.
Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne the 13.1 mile route takes runners through the city center towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge, where if you're lucky, you might get a glimpse of the Red Arrows passing overhead.
From there runners will travel through Gateshead while being entertained many bands on the run. The route, lined by thousands of supporters, leads runners to South Shields where at the top of Prince Edward Road the view of the sea is one of the most welcoming sights along the whole course.
From that point there is just over a mile to go and the crowds get louder as runners make their way down the final straight towards the finish gantry.

(2019) Brigid Kosgei smashed the course record at the Great North Run half marathon on Sunday (8), clocking 1:04:28 over the course from Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields, England, the fastest performance ever over the distance.
As a point-to-point course and slightly downhill, it's not valid for record purposes, but that shouldn't take away from the performance by the 25-year-old Kenyan who dominated the race from the outset.
Running at the front from the start, Kosgei, who raced to high profile marathon victories in London in April and Chicago last October, covered the opening mile in 4:46 and forged on from there to clip more than a minute from the previous course record of 1:05:39 set by Mary Keitany in 2014.
Magdalyne Masai was a distant second in 1:07:36, with Linet Masai third in 1:07:44. Keitany was next in 1:07:58 to round out a Kenyan sweep of the first four spots.
Farah raced to his sixth victory at the event, holding off Ethiopian Tamirat Tola over the final mile to win in 59:06.
Tola, the silver medallist in the marathon at the 2017 World Championships, was second in 59:13 with Abdi Nageeye of The Netherlands third in 59:55. Further back, Callum Hawkins of Great Britain clocked 1:06:39 for fourth.
The flat and fast course runs along the banks of Brush Creek and goes through the heart of the Country Club Plaza! The Plaza 10K benefits Kids TLC, a local organization whose mission is to provide opportunities that transforms kids and families in crisis while ensuring a safe environment. Enjoy live music, great food, a high quality technical shirt and a great finisher's medal after you set a new PR at the Plaza 10K! Participants in the Plaza 10K will enjoy a variety of great food and beverage options provided by Kansas City area restaurants, together with live music, in the post event area just north of Brush Creek at Central Street and Ward Parkway.

The race will be chip timed using the IPICO electronic timing chip that is to be attached to the participant's shoe laces. Plaza 10K participants will be able to take advantage of two aid stations along the course, at approximately the 2 mile mark and the 4 mile mark, each station offering water and Gatorade
Participating in the half marathon is essentially a running sightseeing tour of the beautiful Budapest. The course leads through the center of the city, down the famous Andrassy Boulevard and across the Chain Bridge. Admire the view of the Buda Castle from the Danubebanks and marvel in the panorama of Pest as well as Europe´s third largest Parliament building!
There are over 15.00' participants on all the distances, with more than 10.000 half marathon runners and 1500 teams. However, no need to worry about crowding and overtaking as the start is done in waves so everyone has plenty of space to run.

Large race, but very well managed, and geared to handle a crowd at the beautiful Country Club Plaza in Kansas City
