Welcome to the Napoli City Half Marathon/Mostra D'Oltremare Half Marathon!!

After the extraordinary experiences of "Le Colline di Napoli" and "Events with the Olympic Champion", February 2, 2014 was born NAPOLI CITY HALF MARATHON, Trophy of Health Professions, FIDAL INTERNATIONAL RACE DISTANCE OF 21,097 KM.

The beauty of the course, the great indoors sports village and the arrival in the big park and fairgrounds of the Overseas Exhibition aroused enthusiasm and acclaim in the approximately 2,600 athletes reached the finish line of the third edition.

The route passes through many historical and scenic areas of the city, among the most beautiful, but at the same time presents a series of significant challenges, including two uphill areas, and a 900-meter tunnel towards the end, that make this race a real challenge for runners.

Napoli City Half Marathon

(2018) NAPLES – The 5th Napoli City Half Marathon, another event organized by RunCzech, was supposed to be fast and very fast it was indeed.
Though the rain from the night before left the asphalt wet and caused some adherence problems for the great first positions champions, they still raced at exceptional rhythms. Fortunately, a beautiful sun did come out to accompany, at least from the middle of the race onwards, all the professional runners and the myriad of amateurs who enthusiastically took to the streets of Naples.

COURSE RECORDThe race took place in a unique setting between the sea and the Castel dell'Ovo, the Maschio Angioino and the San Carlo Theater, and the port area and Piazza del Plebiscito. Art and history which did not distract the winners, all three of them Kenyans, in the men's half-marathon race. The winner wasAbel Kipchumba with 1:00:12(a member of RunCzech Racing team), who thus set a new race record as well as improved his personal best by three minutes. The initial part of the race was very fast, with the first 5 km run in just over 14 minutes and passing the 10 km mark in 28:08 at a rate of 2 minutes and 48 seconds. The second part of the race slowed down just a bit as it went through the historic center and returned to the Mostra d'Oltremare.

The time set by Kipchumba is surely a notable one, as it is one of the best performances of all time in Italy and the second best in the world in 2018. Behind him came Shadrak Kiplagat (also a RunCzech Racing member) with 1:00:34, who also managed to improve his personal best by more than two minutes, while the third place was taken by Norbert Kipkoech Kigen with 1:01:43. Norbert was the forecast favorite at the eve of the race but he unfortunately lost precious ground before passing the 10 kilometer mark. “I am very happy with my performance – said the winner Kipchumba – Running on these roads was fantastic; I cannot wait to come back.”
