The Brighton Marathon is one of the UK’s favorite marathons. With stunning coastal scenery in one of the country’s most energetic cities, this is the perfect race for runners with all different levels of experience.
The fast and beautiful course of the Brighton Marathon makes this a ‘must do’on any runners list. Come and experience it for yourself over 26.2 mile course starting at Preston Park. The route takes in the iconic Brighton Pavilion before you reach the beautiful Sussex coastline and the finish on Madeira Drive.

Since its launch in 2010, the Brighton Marathon has quickly become one of Britain's favorite running events. It is now ranked as "Britain's No. 2 Marathon" for its profile, number of runners and standard of race organization.
Organized by former international athlete Tim Hutchings and former Brighton club athlete Tom Naylor, the race attracted 18,000 entries in 2013!

The Marathon route is an exciting mix of coast, city and parks. This route is predominantly flat, perfect for a debut marathon! It is a two lap route, which means you have twice the fun and you know what`s coming up.
You'll get the chance to run over the Itchen Bridge during your race journey.
At the top of the bridge almost 100ft up, you'll experience a feast for the eyes with the beautiful view of the city, the River Itchen, commercial centre and out to sea towards the Isle of Wight.
There are many delights on this route including running across the Itchen bridge, alongside the beautiful mouth of the Solent, before running through the Premier league Saints stadium, through the huge expanse of the common, then finally after your two laps finish in front of the Guildhall in the city centre.
This event is an ideal choice for first time Marathon runners and an exciting new course for seasoned pro’s alike. We are expecting approximately 10,000 runners for this event.
A spectator`s friendly route, with lots of activities, coffee houses and restaurants to explore and make it a weekend away with the whole family.

All races start and finish in the heart of Southampton’s city center with the run course passing iconic local landmarks including Bargate, QE2 Anchor and St Mary’s Stadium. Sure to be the race highlight will be running both the ascent and more popularly the descent over the Itchen bridge, which will be closed exclusively for this unique event.
