A Real Pioneer in Long DIstance Racing Has passed Away

On Saturday Feb 3 Ken Young passed way at the age of 76. He invented the art and science of record keeping for the sport of long distance running. He first used a computer to produce race results in 1970, and produced computer based running performance rankings by 1974. In 1980, these rankings had developed into the National Running Data Center (NRDC) which pioneered and developed road records in the United States...On a personal note by the end of 2016 Ken had run more than 141,000 miles which included 4,500 miles during high school and college. He raced about 90 marathons. But more importantly he collected running results and created running stats. Our sport will miss Ken Young! R.I.P.
