Newcomer Kinde Atanaw Alayew wins the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon and shatters the record

Roza Dereje destroys the record of the circuit to take the victory in women and the Turkish Ozbilen breaks the European record

Valencia is still the city of records. The Ethiopians Kinde Atanaw Alayew and Roza Dereje have imposed themselves on the goal of the City of Arts and Sciences, beating the previous record brands of the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon. Especially in women, this Sunday's record ( 2.18.31 ) destroys the previous one, which Ashete Dido had since 2018 (2.21.14). In addition, the Turkish Ozbilen becomes the fastest European in history at 42,195 meters.

The capital of Turia may have witnessed the birth of a new world fund star. The Ethiopian Kinde Atanaw Alayew has prevailed in the Trinidad Alfonso EDP Valencia Marathon with a mark of 2.03.51 . This time is the new record of the test, which ranks as the sixth fastest on the planet in the discipline of 42,195 meters. The previous record of the test was held by Leul Gebresilase (2.04.31), who in the last kilometers could not be with the best.

The Ethiopian Alayew has launched an attack at kilometer 38 to which neither his compatrion Guye Adola nor the Turk Mike Kigen Ozbilen have been able to respond . The athlete's car that runs with the Ottoman flag, however, also has a prize, since he finished second, beating the European marathon record . His 2.04.16 record improves the time he set in Chicago 2018 Mo Farah (2.04.11). Third has been Adola with a time of 2.04.42.

The first Spanish was Camilo Santiago , who with his record of 2.10.04 gets the minimum for the Tokyo Olympics.

Regarding women, the first three have run below the previous circuit record. Right has stopped the stopwatch at 2.18.31. Azmera Abreha has done it in 2.18.33 while Birhane Dibaba has reached the finish line in 2.18.43.

The first two have reached the descent of the old channel together and have played the victory to the sprint. Almost on the blue platform, Dereje has launched the definitive attack to which Abreha has had to yield. As in men, the great favorite to win, the Kenyan Vivian Cheruiyot, has not been able to be with the best in the last leg of the race.

The best Spanish has been Elena Loyo with a record of 2.30.56, which is another of the many athletes who have improved her personal brand, which she had in 2.31.13.
