New York Road Runners is expanding into New Jersey! As part of that effort, we will host open runs and free youth programs throughout the year. In addition, we’re launching the NYRR Newport Fiesta 5K which offers a unique race with an expansive course through downtown Jersey City.

Festivities will be held throughout the day—including a Rising New York Road Runners event with free, shorter-distance races for younger athletes—and will culminate with a post-race festival as the sun sets.

Course Info

Mile 1: Start on Washington Street just south of 14th Street/Park Lane South. Run south on Washington Street, then turn right to head west on Columbus Drive.

Mile 2: Continue on Columbus Drive.Just before Grove Street, bear right onto the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza. Turn left at Barrow Street and then make another left onto Montgomery Street. Continue on Montgomery Street, where you’ll pass City Hall and catch a view of the Lower Manhattan skyline.

Mile 3: From Montgomery Street, turn left onto Greene Street and then make another left onto Columbus Drive. Turn right onto Washington Street and continue north to the finish on Washington Street.
